FIRST DROP

After years of having concepts and ideas in my mind for starting my own clothing brand, the first drop finally became reality. It was definitely a process, but it was all worth it.

Let's start at the beginning. It must have been around 2006-2008 (or maybe even earlier), when I first started to use the handle danymz for socials. The years after, I also put it on a few clothing items f.e. a cap & jacket. But it must have been around 2018/2019 when I first had the idea of making a clothing brand with a hidden message on the sleeve. In fact, I was inspired by a few music artists to start this brand. They made music with a message and/or inspired people with their music. I also wanted to create something meaningful for people. Even if it only would be meaningful for one person. Musical talent is something I don't have (I do have great music taste though, if I can say that of myself lol), so I wanted to create something else. An own clothing brand was something I thought of, while having this idea. 

Looking around, I did saw some clothing brands with inspiring words or messages on their clothing, but I never saw a message anywhere hidden on a clothing item that you could reveal whenever you want to. The best and most perfect option was to put the message on the inside of the left sleeve (left sleeve because it's close to your heart) of a t-shirt. So even if you don't reveal the message, it's still close to your heart. But if you want to show people the message on your sleeve, all you have to do is to roll up your sleeve twice and it will pop out. 

I wanted to create something that I believe in and what I actually needed this past year(s). So I started the "I AM ..." collection and the "bible verse" collection, because I needed some inspiring words at some points in my life the past years and I thought other people might also need those words. I wanted to make the first drop special and started with "I AM STRONG" and "PHILIPPIANS 4:13" ("I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.")

Sometimes we feel weak, afraid, alone and/or that we can't do anything. But just remember that you are strong and you can handle it! Whatever you are going through in your life right now, just know you will overcome it. You have to trust that the journey you are on (No matter how long or short the journey is. No matter how shitty your situation is right now and it's totally fine to feel shitty or not okay or to cry on some days), that this journey is not your final destination. You're in motion to better days. You just got to believe you can handle all of this, because you are strong!

I hope this t-shirt or these t-shirts of the first drop will inspire you.
